Shell in the Desert

I'm currently working on a worldbuilding project where I have these characters searching for a temple in the desert. This painting is of a character called "Shell" by people who do not speak in chemical streams underwater. She has come on land, in a still suit and a modified gill breather, to search for the temple in the Oasis desert. Currently, she's lost; pictured here is her scrambling up a (poisonous) tree to get at the fruit because she has run out of water and food.
